What's it like to stay with IHG right now?
IHG has bet on prominent partnerships with expert organizations to guide its hotels during COVID-19.
It’s Way of Clean program is developed in partnership with Ecolab and Diversey. Its standards for the health and wellbeing of guests are being developed with the Cleveland Clinic.
IHG is already cleaning its hotels with hospital-grade disinfectant. It is transforming cleaning in other ways, which may include:
- Guest Room – verification of sanitized items (e.g. glassware, remote control); removing high-touch items from rooms; use of electrostatic spraying
- Reception – contactless transactions, front desk plexiglass shields, hand sanitizer stations, sanitized key-cards, paperless check-out
- Public Spaces – deep cleaning of high touch surfaces, social distancing, ”last cleaned” charts
- Food & Beverage – new standards for room-service
IHG has also relaxed its rebooking and cancellation policies.
Bookings made prior to April 6, 2020 at IHG hotels (not including all Six Senses properties) can be changed or cancelled for stays up to August 31, 2020.
Moving forward, new reservations made under the Book Now, Pay Later rate can be cancelled up to 24 hours before check-in if booked direct with IHG.
IHG Rewards Club nights can be changed or canceled without change fees prior to the time period set by each IHG hotel.

Plexiglass shields at reception between employees and guests
Reduced contact at check-in, paperless check-out, and touchless transactions
Sanitizer stations available and sanitized key-cards provided
