Hyatt Cancellation Policy: COVID-19 Review
Hyatt’s cancellation policy was updated and made more flexible at the start of COVID-19. Most reservations could be cancelled without fees 24 hours before check-in for stays through July 31, 2021.
We anticipated the flexibility would continue beyond that date, but Hyatt has not communicated any new changes to its policy for stays from August 1 onwards. For new bookings cancellations are governed by the specific room rate you book. Complete terms are available on Hyatt’s web site.
Hyatt’s reimagined cleanliness, safety, and guest experience during the pandemic are comprehensive and creative.
First, Hyatt’s new Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment expands its existing cleaning and safety procedures. All Hyatt hotels globally will be accredited by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) for their cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention standards.
Each hotel will have appointed hygiene and wellbeing leaders who are responsible for ensuring new cleaning processes are followed. Hyatt is also receiving advice from medical experts at the Cleveland Clinic and other medical organizations.
While nearly every hotel company has announced new cleaning standards, Hyatt’s “Reimagined Hotel Experiences” show it remains committed to ensuring its guests enjoy travel as well.
Some of Hyatt’s reimagined guest experiences include: private dining in outdoor spaces, rooftop yoga classes and outdoor workout spaces, mindfulness exercises, contactless housekeeping scheduling, and removing high-touch items from guest rooms.
