Finnair Review: Safety & Cleanliness
Finnair changed its operations following the COVID-19 pandemic. Passengers are now seated as far from one another as possible. Cleanings procedures are intensified with particular focus on high-touch areas.
Finnair employees encourage contactless procedures with passengers’ passports, boarding passes, and baggage. Using mobile apps and online check ins are preferred.
At the airport, the airline has installed plexiglass shields to separate staff from passengers.
All passengers and employees are required to wear masks on board.
Boarding is done from the rear of the cabin to the front. Deplaining is also done in zones, from front to rear. Where buses are required to take passenger to/from the aircraft, a maximum of 50% of the bus capacity is used.
Finnair has introduced some flexibility, allowing customers to change the dates of their ticket without rebooking fees, for bookings between 1 Apr – 31 Aug 2020. Customers wanting to cancel are still required to follow their specific ticket’s cancellation rules.
