What's it like to stay with Avani right now?
Avani Hotels (part of Minor Hotels) calls its health and safety initiative AvaniSHIELD.
Focused on new technology like digital check-in and check-out, copper protection coating, UVC light and HEPA-grade air purifiers, the program was announced in May as hotels prepared to welcome back guests.
While many hotels have embraced technology to provide contactless service and enhanced cleaning, several of Avani’s efforts are unique.
It’s using copper, covering door handles and elevator buttons with anti-microbial copper film, backed by research which indicates the COVID-19 virus survives the shortest amount of time on copper.
Avani is also using Ultra Violet C light sterilization on key cards, stationery and other high-touch surfaces. Guests can request to have their mobile phone sterilized using this technology.
Finally, Avani is placing HEPA-grade air purifiers in select properties. HEPA filters are used in hospitals and on board most commercial aircraft and remove up to 99.99% of airborne particles including viruses.
Avani has increased flexibility for reservations booked from March 13 to August 31, 2020 (for hotel stays completed before December 20, 2020).
Avani Flexi rates may be changed or cancelled up to 24 hours before arrival without fees.
